HORSE IS HARD TO
TRAILER LOAD?

LOVE YOUR HORSE

BUT NOT THEIR BEHAVIOUR?

HORSE TRAILER LOADING PROBLEMS?

Having a horse who is difficult to trailer load is a common reason for people to contact an equine behaviourist.

Horses can be difficult to load, or can have troubles while travelling in the trailer for a number of reasons, such as fear, pain, or as a result of previous experience. The problem can make the horse dangerous to handle, and may also prevent the horse from accessing critical medical care or transport in times of emergency.

Commonly used horse training techniques, such as 'making the wrong thing hard' or escalating pressure can worsen existing problems, and even create new problems.

The good news is that horses who have trailer loading problems can be helped. With an evidence-based, low-stress retraining plan, horses can be taught how to once again load and travel calmly in a trailer.
