About the Event
Cooperative care is a way of training animals to willingly participate in their own husbandry or medical procedures. Using this approach, horses can be taught to perform such behaviours as standing still, unrestrained, for eye drops, blood draws or vaccines. This short video gives an example of a formerly needle-shy horse who was taught to stand still for jugular injections using cooperative care.
