FEARFUL, ANXIOUS, STRESSED EQUINE PATIENTS? A NEW TOOL CAN HELP
I recently wrote an article for West Coast Veterinary Magazine on the new Fear Free® Equine Fear, Anxiety, and Stress (FAS) scale. This tool can help veterinary staff quickly identify equine patients experiencing increased levels of fear, anxiety or stress - whether on the farm, or in-clinic.
Being able to accurately assess the emotional state of animals under one’s care can greatly enhance their welfare, improve response to treatments and treatment compliance, and improve the safety of veterinary staff too.
